Today’s hot sauce review is going to be about Black Mamba 6 by Cajohn’s Fiery Foods. I have found this hot sauce to be reasonably spicy. For a hot sauce enthusiast, it would be a great choice. A beginner would definitely want to start with something milder. Unless one has a profound heat tolerance, this sauce may be too spicy for the average person. This would be highly recommended for a hot sauce enthusiast. What struck me about this sauce was the immediate heat factor. It does not take long to kick in, however, the flavor makes the sauce worth repeat purchases. It does not take very much sauce to add a significant amount of spice to any food.
Whenever I hear black mamba, I can’t help but think of Black Manta (a direct result of watching Aquaman recently 🙂 )

Jmshistorycorner, I have never heard of that show. Do you have any family or friends who do enjoy spicy foods? If so, will you please mention my blog to them?

Hi there + thx for the review on Black mamba 6. It sounds intriguing. 🙂
Also, in relation to your recent comment about my exposure to spicy food, I was exposed at a young age to some of the spicier Italian foods due to the fact that I’m an Italian from upstate New York. When I was 19 I moved to the Los Angeles area + lived in Montebello near East Los Angeles for a while. While I was in the L.A. area I developed quite a taste for some pretty hot food. After L.A. I moved to Southern Oregon + am glad that we have quite a wide selection of excellent Mexican food – some of which is quite spicy + tasty. As I’ve gotten older, I still love the spices but have cut down a little on the heat.

Perry Casilio, I found the heat of the Black Mamba 6 to be satisfying. The thing with hot sauce for me is I know if I have overdone it with the amount I want. As to the flavor of the sauce, it was quite good.

Diane, despite its 6 million scoville heat unit rating, the Black Mamba 6 flavor was quite good. It was pretty spicy.

My 8 year old granddaughter wants to eat things I like. She is now picking a jalapeno pepper from our garden and eating half with the seeds! Of course she does this with milk. Then my 5 year old grandson devours my medium heat salsa. I may be a bad influence…hahahaha

Diane, on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being no heat and 10 being a serious level of heat, where would you put your threshold?

Geeze I don’t know, probably a 7.

Diane, I would describe my spice threshold as quite high. Perry Casilio, the heat of the sauce is noticeable, however, the flavor is excellent. I plan on getting more of it. Jmshistorycorner, I found this sauce to have a great flavor. If you can handle a reasonable amount of spice, this sauce does not disappoint. I recall the heat as being instantaneous, however, the flavor of the sauce was quite tasty.

Hot sauce can be dangerous. Homemade is best. Preservatives present problems with commercial foods.

America On Coffee, I will not dispute the fact that hot sauce can be harmful if consumed to any extreme level. Having said that, I have not had a lot of grief when partaking of this sauce. Perry Casilio, I would describe the heat as pretty significant. Diane, when the spice of this sauce kicks in, it kicks in. Any burn is only temporary and does not last too long. Jmshistorycorner, I do like the flavor of this sauce.

As a novice to hot sauces I’d find it really useful if you had an ongoing chart of your sauces.

Ann Allen, I am unsure how to chart them in the sense that you talk about. Having said that, I will keep my blog updated as often as I can.
